I don't modify traps much. I'll adjust the pan tension on the footholds. And I just use the conis how they are. I dye and wax all my traps (except conis). Reason I wax all my footholds is because I usually use them on both land and water.

my 1.5s water traps...i just wax em, make sure their is 0 pan tension, i nightlatch them as well i'll center swivel them too. Thats it make sure there is 0 pan tension, and the pan is flat with the jaws.
Coni's...i either paint them or dye them, (dont wax conis!) i either replace their triggers with 220 trigers and bend them so its like a triangle (less misses that way) or run thin cable beetween the ^ (also less misses that way)
hope that helps!

If I'm using #1longs I add a small weight to the base of the trap and stake it out far so there's a better chance of it drowning.

if your saying you tie off a meatal plate to the base etal of your trap and then steak it down tight to the bottom of the water way then yes it would be just as affective as a driwnder set.

Yes that's basically it. I use a lead weight or a broken part of a brick

why would you do that when a coni kills it just wire it off to a tree near by

brandon.. everyone has there onw ways of doing things. and typicly if its in a creek there isent a tree close enough to not use a lot of wire so its easier to steak it or plate it.
