I love this set on my fox line! It seems to almost out produce the DH in my area!
The first pic is were you simply place your post, or almost better then placing a post is finding a natural post at your location, to use so its even more natural!
But usally there isnt a post at the given location, so placing a post you found in the off season ect will work just fine as well!
First place your post:
The second pic shows the trap bed dug, and trap bedded. This placment is for fox again, for yotes it would be out at about 9"
Some people off set there trap a couple inches to the left, ore right on there post sets. I don't, and it produces fine for me. However, there is no reason not to experiment on the trap placement to see what works the best for you!
Trap bed dug and trap bedded:
This third pic shows the trap bedded, and almost covered. Cover lightly with the dirt as shown in the third pic!!!
Trap lightly covered, and bedded:
The fourth pic shows a method of blending. If avalible at the set location, you can gather long dry grass (or otehr materal) twist and fold inot a tight wad and use a pruning shears to cut into 1/4" leanghts to blend your set. It works pretty good, and with the cutting the grasses ect it wont be near as likely to bind up the trap when it fires!
Blending method:
Last pic shows the complete set! Simply sift the grasses through your sifter, onto your dirt pattern...dont over do it! Just enough to make it look natural!
Finished set:
Now do take note that this is summer, so it doesnt look super natural with the brown grass LOL
Close up of the finished set!
Finger points to pan! Any questions or comments are always appreciated!!!!!!
