yes the long hairs mean 2 things, back an cheek. look close at the animal, its there. Anyway, just starting back in trapping not too long ago, i mostly buy duke an bridger. Reason being, rite now i need my traps to pay for them selves till i get a profit to buy want i want. But i really like them bridgers, not that dukes arent good traps, but like said above for some fur ya need to mod. But them DP's ya just cant beat em. IMO

lets talk about profits and cost
one of the biggest reason trappers fail to make a profit is because they MUST HAVE THE BEST TRAP ON THE MARKET but the truth is , it's a want and not a need . you can catch just as much fur with a 5.00 trap as you can with a 25.00, the ONLY FIFFERENCE IS THIS, IT ONLY TAKES 1 COON TO PAY FOR 1 FIVE DOLLAR TRAP HOW EVER IT TAKES 2-3 TO PAY FOR THAT 25.00 TRAP , what this means is you have to catch twice the amount and could be more to pay for the high dollar traps, now lets say you got a dz high dollar traps and 10 gets stollen well now you have to catch 15 coon to pay for them traps and you only have to from that dz so again that means anothe 15 needs to be caught to restock were as the cheaper traps you could rebuild your tools with out killing your profiits
as brother dobs pointed it's the choices you make that will make you a profit or it will cost your your profit. you and only you have the right to make the choices but you need to focus on the right choices

Bill as we have discused before it also depends on how much your fur is worth. It only takes 3 buck mink to pay off one doz 1.5 sleepy creeks now this is northern michigan fur if your in a southern state the story will be much differant for you.
