Anyone else trap there own bait? I trap minnows, crayfish, and leeches. Anyone feel like sharing some tips?

i trap all of my bait. The way i catch mine is about as standered as it gets lol
for chubs/fish i just take a small hook (#10) with a worm we got tons and tons of creek chubs. you can catch a ton in a hurry!
for crayfish i either net them out, or catch them with my hands if i have time. if not, i'll just make a couple real simple crayfish traps and catch them that way

me i sain crawdads and minows and chubs. i catch crawdads with my hands too. i like catchin em with my hands.

use plastic bottles to trap crawdeads and minnoes, hook for chubs dive in lakes and rivers for clams and i san in streams.

In one place I set my minnow trap I get small bass bluegills perch and shad

Yeah its set in a ditch that connects to a creek that connects to a lake. I mostly catch bullheads mud minnows and crappie minnows

sweet in mine i catch baby sun fish chubbs shinners baby trout sucker minnows baby northern and sometimes crappie minnoes

I'm gonna take my canoe out onto the bigger lake my cabins on and canoe around setting crayfish and minnow traps

Its kinda hard to explain. There's two methods I use. You can take a sheet of metal put bait on it and fold it tight so there's just a slight crack to let leeches in. Or you could take an ice cream bucket put some bait in it and a weight in it to. Tie the lid down tight. Then lift the sides of the lid and put some sort of wedge to keep them up. And make it so its just big enough to let leeches in. Remember to tie them well. Then go set them in a muddy part of a lake or pond.
